Break Free From the Traditional Buffet

A buffet is a great way to serve food and drink to a large group of people quickly and efficiently, but who says it has to contain all of the “traditional buffet foods” every single time? There are endless possibilities when it comes to buffets, especially in regards to what is being served! Get creatively inspired by some of the fabulous ideas below.

Bloody Mary Bar

A Bloody Mary bar is a fantastic way to spice up (literally!) the drink station within your buffet. Set out an assortment of pickles, vegetables, bacon and olives for garnishing. Your guests will love getting involved in creating their own delicious cocktail! This type of bar can be used for various other beverages as well, such as martinis and champagne. All you need is a variety of alcohol and garnishes to go with each respective type of drink, and you’re set!

Doughnut Bar

Want to include a dessert in your buffet that isn’t so typical? Try setting up a doughnut bar and watch your guests faces as they light up with inner child-like glee. Be sure to include a variety of doughnut flavors as well as different kinds of dipping sauces for them to be dunked into. Toppings like powdered sugar, sprinkles and chocolate chips are also a must! To cater toward the non-doughnut lovers out there, desserts such as ice cream and brownies can be offered as well.

Potato Bar

It’s pretty common to see mashed potatoes when walking down a buffet line. That doesn’t mean the way they’re served has to be common, though! Mix things up by serving the potatoes in a fancy martini or wine glass. Set out various kinds of cheeses, butter, chives and bacon for guests to top their side dish off with. The same can also be done with macaroni and cheese! Mmm…carbs.
